Surface & Textile Designer, Illustrator
Following a one year foundation course in Art and Design at Oxford Brookes University, Andrea obtained a Bachelor of Arts( Hons) Degree in Graphic Design and Illustration from Kingston University in the UK. Whilst working for design studios in London
( UK) and Toronto her clients have included The Four Seasons Hotel group, Marks and Spencer, Safeway PLC and Second Cup . Andrea's work has been published in magazines such as Canadian House and Home, Toronto Life, Chatelaine and EnRoute . On moving to Canada in 1991 Andrea continued to work as a freelance designer and illustrator. In 2011, the desire to push her work in a new direction resulted in a return to art college to study textiles at Sheridan College in Oakville. Upon graduating in April 2014Andrea was awarded the William and Mary Corcoran award as a student of excellence and ‘Best in Show’ at the Sheridan Faculty of Craft and Design Graduate exhibition. In June 2014 Andrea travelled to the USA to receive a First place award for textile print design from the International Textile Market Association. As a member of the Contemporary Textile Co-operative in Toronto, Andrea focuses on the production of bespoke printed fabrics, promoting herself as a freelance surface and textile designer whilst continuing in her own studio practice.
